Many students would die to do an internship in a large multinational such as Unilever. Even though it sounds like "a dream", once you are inside the organization, it is completely different. Based on my experience, interns are not supervised by their line managers but by someone else from the team. These people usually do not have leadership training and tend to be very busy, which leads to long response times for very simple (for them) inquiries. Since you go to the office twice a week (or even less), online communication should be prioritized, but they just do not care. If they agree to allow you to write your thesis based on a problem of the company (a.k.a from your team), do not expect much support from them like getting access to data. They will even tell you that you should not interview anyone because it is a waste of time or that some information is confidential (even though all the financial statements are online and accessible to the public???). If you want to find a job once you finish your internship, you'd better start searching early and make sure that your supervisor likes you. Otherwise, possibilities to stay are extremely limited since interns are not allowed to apply to internal vacancies, so they must wait until they are public on Unilever's website. If you want a nice "work experience" on your resume, this internship is for you. If you want to feel lost at work and excluded, do not join this company.
