    In my 9 years of career in the Industry this the best company i have ever worked for. The search for quality and pushing the boundaries is constant. The team behind story, quest and graphics are triple AAA world-class standard. The leads behind them are a big part of it. I have tremendously progressed in my domain being among this team. I trust the decisions of the board and PR/Marketing. Their games are loved by their fans, the critics and also sold extremely well, a very rare balance in this industry. I believe it is due to the choice of the heads and the leadership of the leads during the production that brought such stellar results. There are passionate people, who came from abroad definitely not for the money below the biggest names but for the scope of the projects and the will of doing something that will last forever in the gaming world. Poland, life is very affordable for a normal/senior position. I live very well here, much better than the UK or any country in Europe I lived in.

    I would not recommend this company for those who are not ready to push themselves and those who just want a 9 to 17h without any trouble. There will be some overtime coming toward the ends of big milestones. This is a classic flaw in this industry, I had much worse conditions in other companies working crazy hours for a sub-par game. We haven't made the GOTY 2016 without sweat and blood for sure... but since when does masterpieces of this caliber comes by doing nothing ? Salary are excellent for Poland, but about average compared to the top companies in West Europeans countries. The good thing is that It does filter the truly passionate challengers from those who will never come off their comfort zone and are only looking for a quick cash grab.

    Pr and marketing: keep doing what you do. It is the first time in my career i have been considered a star and acclaimed in the streets of Warsaw by fans. You're doing it right. Producers: be more lenient for those who are less punctual and consider the quality of the job and if it's done in time more than their presence on time.

    If you can afford to loose one year of life maybe it's not the worst idea to work there. It's good for your CV and you will appreciate your next workplaces much more.

    We created best game ever! Cool team and atmosphere! Good bonuses after game release! Now management much more better than it was before

    Minpunten

    Even after hugest success with our project we still have poor salary :-( even for Poland!
    So, in my opinion Heads of the company are too greedy! Yes, had bonuses after W3,but if divided it to years of development and YEARS of overtime it's almost nothing :-(

    - studio learns from their mistakes and tries to get better for their employees
    - awesome office
    - crunch is not treated like in other companies
    - canteen with vegetarian and organic food
    - internal coach/trainer who helps people with their workplace problems
    - you really have to be bad professional or behave like one to get fired
    - beer Fridays with great food, beverages and sometimes even band or a DJ

    Minpunten

    - as often in this industry crunch can be harsh for some departaments, especially those down the pipeline, waiting for all other deparaments before them; fortunately management and producers try to prevent or minimize it in the future
    - there are not a lot of places around the studio where you can have good lunch
    - does not handle difficult or toxic employees soon enough, destroying morale in teams; fortunately these are single cases
    - employees behaving like children are treated by HR like children which does not solve problems
    - the studio is relatively young so there are great and mediocre managers

    - you are great talented people but strive to be equally brilliant managers, that`s your job; I know you`re on the right track and studio is training you, but never stop.

    Pluspunten

    CD Projekt RED is a company that has a lot of highly talented people while offering a lot of new opportunities to new people. It's like a huge family and they make sure that you feel save and have a lot of fun at work. Crunching is part of its development culture but it is fair and you can choose how much hours you can add to your normal working hours. What I like the most is that every decision is made with the customer ( gamers ) in mind. Quality of CD Projekt RED's products is not negotiable.

    1. A lot of inside bureaucracy with software and other things.
    2. Too young people in management.
    3. Health insurance you are paying by yourself.

    Pluspunten

    Very talented people work in all departments. Pushing the boundaries of what is accepted in games. HR organizes some wicked parties. Huge bonuses.

    Minpunten

    Management is piss-poor, with nobody there who can actually manage people. It consists of old time employees that are there because of their time investment in the company.
    Producers are often young and inexperienced as well. This combined together ensures absurd amount of crunch. For some people it was more than TWO years. Of course taking days is near impossible.

    Following that, even the best employees can be denied promotion based on some contrived reasoning and others can be promoted despite not meeting the requirements. This makes the promotion system hollow, since it can be broken at will with seemingly no repercussions.

    Employee retention is terrible. Any employee who is unhappy with his position at the company is automatically assumed to be leaving immediately and no effort is being made to keep them. This leads to a large amount of amateurs in every department.

    There is nothing setup for people who are trying to learn. It's sink or swim in this company from the start until the end. It has no courses or even documentation for learning tools (which are incredibly rudimentary).This company doesn't invest in it's employees at all. You are expected to get better on your own. If you want to learn Game Development this place is not for you.

    The company is also extremely cheap towards its employees. Despite the success of the Witcher, QA is paid around the minimum wage, which is barely anything in Poland. Any other employees do not earn the amount they could working at an international company. Raises are few and far between.

    Hire somebody with actual Management experience to help this company change. Without this, in five years nobody will want to work at CDPRed.

    - Very interesting projects
    - You'll get to work with some extraordinarily talented people
    - Rapidly growing, but it can lead to a trap.
    - The company is actively working to make things better internally.
    - Real talent to emerge with a working game out of the production chaos.
    - In-house canteen (vegetarian only though!)

    Minpunten

    - Out of touch upper management setting fake milestones without prior consulting with anyone actually working on the thing, leading to crushing, over a year long crunch periods.
    - The company game design-fu seems to be 'do a bunch of game systems separately and try to sew it together somehow later'.
    - No clear art direction, separate team leads will tell you their separate visions for it, that more often than not contradict.
    - Since I started working things have gotten very political. Although HR is working to make things better for everyone in the company, if you're not in the favor of the right people, you are just a cog in the machine. This also means the more narcissistic and selfish you are, the higher you will go, even without much experience.
    - Things are way over-micromanaged by the studio head, although there is a team lead structure in place in the end everything needs to go through him.

    Advies aan management

    Make no mistake. Your recent success doesn't mean that everything is fine internally and you should continue as always.
    Fresh blood is nice, but has to be tempered with experience. Just because someone is saying that he can do something doesn't mean he actually has the skill to do so.
    Start noticing less vocal people, keep improving the internal chemistry of the team, work on trusting the professionals you hired instead of micromanaging them all the way through.

    You have a potential to be a great working place. You're just not there yet.
