    very high pressure Long, laborious hours Cried on shift several times because a lot is expected of you from management and customers, Staff pretend that it’s an amazing job with no downsides which feels really isolating

    Check in with people a bit more, call centre jobs are really hard Be more flexible with what hours people can work and be more understanding of students lives outside of work Admit that it’s not the best job as a means of making employees feel a bit more normal

    Some of your managers are obviously inexperienced and have this “win at any cost attitude”. Eventually this will your own undoing as youcan only get away with cheating your employees for so long until someone raises a grievance.

    Pluspunten

    The wage is good, much better than other call centres. It's easy to get procedures done if you know the right people to talk to. The good managers are very supportive and understand the job is stressful. You meet lots of different types of people and develop a wide range of skills such as listening skills and taking on board constructive criticism. Good amount of holidays and sometimes same day leave.

    Minpunten

    The job is repeptive and sometimes dull after 6 months once you know everything. There's not much room for progression especially if you've been there a while learning the skills. The people who progress tend to be good at sales from the very start. It can be understimulating but that is the nature of a call centre job. The team leader selection process isn't great, we have some team leaders who were good at hitting targets...

    Management are pretty good. There are a lot of things changing within the business and staff get quite frustrated when information isn't clear which could be better, but generally, procedures are handled well and management listen to your concerns.

    Great people and good office culture.

    Management too self-focused. Company is behind the times technology wise. The yearly review weighting system is too biased towards management and leadership and not a fair representation of "teamwork".

    Pluspunten

    Genuine desire to do the right thing by customers and by their people. Spending big money on improving the offices here in Brighton. Investments in service has helped a lot of customers over the winter. Lots of career opportunities and more investment in digital.

    Lots of change. Can be challenging and they don't get it right every single time, but intentions are good and they learn from mistakes.

    When I first started in my role the Brighton office was quite dated however this has just gone through a massive transformation with a £1.4 million refurbishment and the office is now modern and clean.

    You can tell they care about customers and staff, loads of great initiatives like discounts, free tea, coffee fruit and snacks. Managers seem like they care what you have to say and they take it on board, sometimes even making changes based on suggestions.     Some managers are really good but some don’t seem to care sometimes. Mine is great but you can tell there are some issues with others and it can impact morale occasionally
