    Pluspunten

    Fantastic office space and location, best in London.
    People can be themselves, no BS veneers.
    European leadership is fantastic and very supportive.
    The product really works - and customers love it. Very well aligned to the cloud companies such as AWS.
    Lots of great selling tools to help you be successful.
    Still has that small company feel, despite being a "large" company.
    Hard work is expected, but the teams pull together and have fun doing it.

    Minpunten

    Sales comp. plan isn't that generous, and the mix between renewals and new business drives the wrong behaviour in some cases.
    Still working out who the ideal customers are to go after.
    Sometimes it appears that the US leadership team doesn't understand the differences when selling in EMEA - you cannot copy/paste the deal size and expectations without consideration for the local market size and relative opportunity.

    Having been here for over a year now, I finally feel "ready" to provide a review.

    Some of the smartest people I have ever had the opportunity to work with. Things being completed or coded every day that was not possible the day before.

    Culture and people are top notch - everyone is happy to be here and it shows with the "love your Mondays" mantra.

    Your work here impacts many different industries and companies from the largest enterprises to the smallest startup. There is never a dull day.

    Management is very caring and always open for feedback and this is reflected in the company direction. The market also agrees as our stock price has more than doubling since I joined (just over a year ago).

    Benefits include regular enablement in exotic locations (offsites), full top level health insurance, "wellbeing" payments, ESPP and flexible working arrangements. On top of this, you've got a fully stocked snacks (chips, nuts, noodles, cheese & crackers etc.) + drinks (soft and alcoholic) kitchen as well as regular catering for various events.

    Minpunten

    With all of the Pros above, there is an expectation to perform as this is without a doubt a high speed organisation.

    Work-Life balance depends on the team that you're working in but the managers will always try to accomodate your needs.

    That being said, not everyone is cut out for the breakneck pace of progress but those that are will thrive and excel in this environment.

    There is always ample support and training, but the rest is up to you.

    Listen to the market, the customers and of course your front-line sales/technical staff. Our market leading position means we need to continue to iterate and improve. We can't be complacent in this industry as things are moving so quickly. Solidify our dominant position through a pursuit of excellence.

    New Relic is an incredible place to work that provides a daily challenge while allowing employees to be themselves at all times. The organization promotes an atmosphere of true teamwork and is evidenced by the commitment to succeed shown by each department.

    Great team members, fun atmosphere, bonuses and stock options for working hard and garnering recognition

    Minpunten

    Challenges around technical growth with direct competition. For the sales team there is extreme pressure to cut corners on deals due to fears of losing out on revenue. I believe this is apart of a YoY growth of a business but we need to stick to the 5 main New Relic principles and not try to play by others rules.

    Keep working on growth and change as we move from a mid-sized to enterprise business.

    Pluspunten

    There're so many good things to mention about New Relic.

    They're not afraid to let people learn, so far, it's the only place where they care about onboarding, where onboarding doesn't mean giving a laptop.

    Also, the human part of the company is one of the key strengths that New Relic has, they do care of people.

    Minpunten

    There are issues, of course, but as in any other company. Nothing is perfect, and in this case, there are more good things than bad ones.

    Keep going with the culture, that's the difference between New Relic and other companies.

    - Nice office in Portland
    - The stock keeps going up

    Minpunten

    - There's a tremendous amount of rhetoric on wanting to run a highly resilient platform, but the actions and investments contradict this.
    - Falling behind technically as an organization because of an insistence to run the platform on-prem. Many folks are not even aware of what is possible in the public cloud.
    - There's a veil of autonomy for teams, ripped apart by micromanaging leadership.
    - Passive aggressive culture which does not value direct communication
    - There's an imbalance between the prioritization of a healthy culture, and being focused on delivering a great product. The product is suffering.
    - Many teams are buried in toil work, without any reasonable option to get out of it (see micromanaging)
    - You are encouraged to be yourself, just as long as you don't disagree with anyone else.

    -SDR team has a proven methodology for success
    -senior, battle-hardened SDR management
    -clear promotion track to AE
    -business use case can be communicated effectively (but not too easily) - good building blocks for those looking to evolve into highly technical sales

    Minpunten

    -Benefits are good, but it would be awesome if we had catered lunches, as many tech companies do. This "con" perils in comparison to the positives of your career upside here.
