Pluspunten

All the people actually care and work hard for a common goal. There is no judgment on what you wear or how you look, people respect you for the work you do here. Unlimited snacks, beer, and drinks are definitely a plus. The location is great (center of downtown Denver). I've worked full time and contracted for several companies in Denver and actually did a 6 month contract in the past with MapQuest. When I decided to go back to full time I had several options (Denver is very tech heavy now and a lot of jobs), overall I loved working at MapQuest and chose them. I am very happy with my decision. My hiring process was very quick compared to others (less than a week to get an offer). All the managers and PMs here are also very nice and actually a pleasure to talk to.

Minpunten

Sometimes it's hard to see the forecast of the work down the road and company's direction but you can tell management is trying to get better at it. Not to much else to complain about honestly, there's issues here or there but every job will have those and compared to others MapQuest is definitely one of the better ones.

Pluspunten

The company had such great potential because of the talented employees, rich industry history, and potential support from Verizon...but nothing good will happen the way it's being run today.

Minpunten

It’s the most disappointing leadership I’ve ever experienced. They are consistently disrespectful to each other and combatting each other. And yet, somehow seem to think that this happens behind closed doors. This attitude is an insult to the rest of the company’s intelligence. Slack channel comments are constantly scoured by the leadership, and then he’ll tell that individual’s boss if he didn’t like what seems to be a perfectly innocent conversation. Then that boss will then step in and shut down the conversation in a confusing manner. What’s worse, these presumptuous slack interactions are the only form of communication most of the exec leadership has with its employees on a day to day basis, since they’re all on the east coast. The worst irony is how often the leadership praises themselves on their culture of integrity (we say what we mean and we do what we say) while CONSTANTLY breaking their own rule when it’s not advantageous for them. I don’t trust them except for one reality, which is that bad, short-sighted revenue is always the top goal.
