Management expressed a desire to eradicate the toxic workplace environment when I first started. What actually happened was that HR and senior management were using employees to gain information and utilizing it against other employees. HR encouraged "snitching". Management was poorly educated and hired solely because they lasted the longest. Trainer showed up 2 hours late with no apology and barely reviewed anything. Regional manager made a comment about how she thought it was funny when her boyfriend called his white friends the N word. Common belief among staff that homosexuality and race were tolerated, but not really accepted. Management was so incompetent that they couldn't keep staff or hire them fast enough that workers often did the jobs of 2 or 3 people with little to no recognition. Commissions were complicated and not easily calculated. Manager let it slip that their commision practices were "questionable". Education was always on the back burner and required to complete licensing education requirements at the last minute. Policies, insurance application forms and employee resources were disorganized, inconsistent and outdated. Unbelievable for an organization that had been in business for decades prior. If you are looking for a job, you could suffer through this place for a bit. If you're looking for a career, there are other agencies that are more professional, organized and support career-minded people.
