Pluspunten

Joined the company when it was still very much in a startup mentality and position in its customer base. I always was made to feel like an integral part of the team and for a long time it felt like a family. Not to say that it was always easy, it was often the opposite, but no matter how intense deadlines could be made to feel, it still felt like all of us in the company were in it together. As the company grew, it became more difficult to maintain the feeling of closeness we had experienced thus far, but it felt like the original executives did their best to foster team-building. Obviously, that feeling could not be maintained forever, especially with the rapid growth that Rightsline has experienced in the last few years. At the surface, Rightsline has a lot of perks that are desirable to people looking for new employment- unlimited time off, good health/vision/dental insurance, every other Friday off, and 401k match. (We had to repeatedly ask en masse for 401k match for over 3 years, and when they finally implemented it, they took away the monthly wellness stipend implemented in 2020 without notice, despite many people protesting otherwise.) Near the end of my tenure, there was a push for more engagement with employees, namely “Spirit Week” and Wellness Weeks, but the efforts came off as insincere. A simple gift card or salary increases in relation to local inflation rates would have gone a longer way in displaying employee appreciation. TLDR: Good benefits and time off policy, completely WFH, some good people working there.

Minpunten

The company has always struggled with over-promising to customers in relation to the ongoing development of the product, so it always felt like a race against the clock to complete projects. Rightsline has hired more hands to help, and they’ve certainly put more effort into the hiring process, but it was never for the roles really needed. A majority of the team are hard workers who know what they’re doing, but there are definitely people at the company whose continued presence baffles me, especially as a member of the recent layoff (which included a significant amount of minority representation in the company; almost everyone was either a POC or a member of LGBTQ+). I always took pride in the work I did for the company, and was told there would always be a place for me there, but in the end it seems like that wasn’t the case. Maybe I should have spent more time schmoozing with the newer C-level executives? If you’re considering working for Rightsline, I would only suggest it to those in the Engineering or Product fields. Otherwise, you’re probably not going to enjoy it as much as they advertise you will. TLDR: Company is always struggling to meet customer demand, non-competitive salaries, and there are employees who are effectually useless and still employed.

Pluspunten

- Care about your well-being. - Push you to go the extra mile and grow. - Remote work, & 4-day alternating work weeks!

Minpunten

- If you really like going into an office, then I could see that as a con. Otherwise, remote work is super helpful!

Pluspunten

The pay is highly competitive, and the industry itself is incredibly interesting and engaging to work in. Additionally, the professional services teams seem to be experiencing strong growth right now, and they are doing an excellent job of hiring highly competent, kind, and collaborative folks who are great to work with day-to-day. Just received a major multi hundred million dollar investment, which is promising.

Minpunten

There is a severe lack of psychological safety and professional respect in team communications. Diminishing, rude, and condescending responses are normalized and tolerated by management. Instead of fostering an environment where asking questions is encouraged to prevent mistakes, employees are frequently made to feel bad or incompetent just for doing their due diligence. This creates a defensive working environment where people would rather stay quiet than collaborate.
