Delightful candidate experience from start to finish. I can’t say enough about the friendly folks at Animoto. They made every interaction feel welcoming, from the hiring manager screening to the portfolio presentation and 1:1s. The interviewers were sharp, asked great questions, and were down-to-earth when replying to questions of my own. In addition, I got to meet their CEO/Cofounder in-person over breakfast. It was a real treat learning about his story and vision for the company.
- There were questions directly related to the projects I presented, my leadership and management style, cross functional and cross team collaborations, and behavioral questions.

R1 with the recruiter (The face of the company) The sweetest person I've ever met. Explained the process in details and she was very supportive. R2 with the hiring manager was a good experience too explaining about the company in more details and asking the right questions.
- What i loved about the interview questions is that it was based on explaining what the company does. For example, we do this and that, how did you do it and or how would you do it. It was a very smooth process.

Phone screen with Recruiter then hiring manager screen. Followed by a panel interview with a full day of solo interviews. It was an intense but short process. I appreciated that everything was done in a few days rather than spread over a few weeks like other companies.

Pretty standard interview process. I had a call with HR, video call with the hiring manager, and then a 3-part panel call with the team. I ended up not getting the offer and the feedback I received was that I'd mentioned I was interested in growth and management and they weren't planning to grow the team, so it wouldn't be a great fit. I have two thoughts about this: 1. I totally miscommunicated so that I thought I was answering "where do you see yourself in the next five years" when really they thought I was saying "this is my immediate plan for myself". or 2. They don't plan to grow the team at all in the next five years. If it's the former, that's totally a me problem and something I'll have to work on at the next place I interview, but if you think you might want to move up eventually, it's probably worth confirming whether or not it's the latter. Overall, though, it was a really great interview process with very clear communication all the way through. The team was fantastic and I bet they'll be great coworkers to whoever gets the job.

Out of many different companies I have interviewed for, I would say my experience with Animoto was one of the most positive experiences I've ever had, despite being eliminated after Round 3, prior to meeting the CEO. They clearly care about the people who join the team and even candidates who may or may not make it all the way through the process. Both Ellen and Courtney are fantastic, highly communicative, and very understanding if scheduling conflicts come up. They try their best to move candidates through the process quickly and without dalliance. Their process is a comprehensive four part interview process, first with a phone screen, second with the Director of Design, third being a 4 part panel interview with members from product, marketing, and development, and the last step (which means they're essentially going to give you an offer) is meeting with the CEO. They asked pretty standard product design questions, there was a portfolio review and a whiteboard challenge (which was definitely more on the difficult side), and lots of questions on how you communicate with others. BE PREPARED TO TALK ABOUT A/B TESTING (it is the singular thing Animoto seems to care most about and if you don't have A/B testing experience, you're definitely at a disadvantage) and be prepared to deep dive into your research methods. All in all, the members from the team were really kind, friendly, and genuinely interested in the candidates they were interviewing.

The first interview was a 45 minute video conversation with the hiring manager, Ellen. She was incredible and showed me that there are actually human-centric Talent leaders in NY. She is an excellent reflection of the culture at Animoto, as she gave me specific feedback about my interview and was clear about next steps. I had to reschedule twice due to scheduling conflicts with my current job, and she met me with empathy and understanding when she could have labeled me as an irresponsible candidate. I will continue to follow the success of Animoto because of my experience with Ellen.

The interview process took about 3 weeks including an intro call with a recruiter, a one-on-one with the hiring manager, a panel interview with 4 employees, another quick call with the hiring manager, and a final interview with the CEO.

Honestly not worth looking into. They have no idea what a product team is supposed to look like or function, and it shows in their interviewing workflow. Not only that, their team is not very aware of why their vision and next goals make sense... a bit concerning to say the least.

Long process, but they try to do it quickly. First a call with the recruiter, then the hiring manager, then a 4.5 hour marathon interview with a bunch of different teams. Then you would meet with the CEO but I was eliminated the day after the marathon interview. Beware, they seem to have a pretty wild diversity problem. I interviewed with 99% white men, and one woman. No BIPOC on the panel at all.

The recruiter who reached out was great. She communicated well and responded quickly to any emails sent over to her. Once you get past that, you'll interview with the hiring manager who didn't seem to have product experience which was a bit of a red flag for me. A lot of questions asked didn't seem to dig deep into product experience but rather got more of a design vibe for it which I know can go hand-in-hand but it did put me off since product encompasses a lot more than that. In the end didn't get an offer but am not too sore about it.
