Interviewed with a company representative, went well. Then they needed a project to consume OpenWeather Map API in Angular. I sent them over the project, I put alot of effort into it. Then two weeks later they replied rejecting me even after the project was fully functioning and working in Angular. Slight modifications, tweaks, improvements needed as any Angular project code, they turned me down just because of that with a pretty big list of things the application was lacking. I replied with the following: 1.) This is "free unpaid work" and should be taken into more consideration the time, labor, effort the candidate put forth on this "free unpaid work". The adjustments mentioned are typical minor tweaks, modifications, build steps, etc. that come with ANY Angular project however this is a fully functioning, working DEMO FREE application (provided the direct link to the working app.) 2.) If any minor additions, modifications, etc. are needed, obviously this must be paid for with a cost. Asking for perfection on a free project doesn't really show much value to the candidate and gives off a bad impression/vibe with the intention of seeking "free work". 2.) Please consider replying sooner than two weeks after the candidate submitted the project. Again, lack of consideration towards the candidates time, effort put forth as the candidate did abide by the given time frame requested. For red flags reasons mentioned above, I believe the candidate will be in dangerous territory after doing a relocation process with your company, visa, etc. or any process whatsoever. These are common traits, good qualities, proper etiquette a company should have for a candidate, future team member, person, recruitment process, etc. If you want quality, give quality. :)

Technical test and discussion about the outcome, a lot of technical discussions with good depth. A separate section of the interview was for the more HR discussions looking to the future and what I would want from the role not just right away but in the future as well. Some feedback took a little longer to get to me, when being told it would have been available earlier. It would have been good to have a clear point of contact that manages feedback to interviewees, the amount of different people emailing got larger quickly and it wasn't clear who to contact to get an update on the interview process.

First it was a HR skype interview, then tech skype interview, then face-to-face interviews in HQ (tech and with managers). Overall difficulty was not very complex (mostly about JS and some architectural ones), guys were friendly and answered all my questions.

Lots of steps, most of them with the same questions. Avarage front end test. Two steps interviews. The first 3 interviews was via Skype (I'm from Brazil) them after this, they brought me to Amsterdam, to do a face to face interview with 3 people.

The process started with a phone call with HR, technical assignment, two technical rounds in skype (one for skill set and other on the assignment) then I was invited to Amsterdam office for a discussion with the future manager and a personality round. Throughout the process everyone are friendly, especially the recruiter helping in all the aspects until you get onboard to the job. The company is not only looking for a person with good technical skill set also soft skills and how easy you are going.

I got contact with Backbase through a recommendation of a friend of a friend who’s working there. I had two interviews—a HR interview and a technical one—on Skype, and a homework—that roughly took my 20–24 hours to solve—before being invited to Amsterdam for additional on-site interviews. The company paid for my travel & hotel. At Backbase HQ I had another technical interview and a high-level interview with a VP. They made me a formal offer in two working days, after that. I’m left with a good overall impression, although I decided not to pursue the opportunity, at least for the moment. Big plus for the multi-national team.
