2 questions coding in hackerrank IDE. First one was easy. Second was hard as rocks. If you don’t pass all the test cases you won’t likely move to the next round. Doubt anyone views it.

  • Days in between was a program that took in two dates and then calculated the days in between. There was a function being called (blackbox) that returned the number of days in a month for a specific year.

  • First around is 80 in 8, which that you ask you to do the simple calculation really fast. The second round ask some witty questions, not really require math ability. For example: memorise the number, arrange the schedule, ect.

Waste of time. They give you 8 questions in the first Hackerrank round. This has a limit of 48 hours, so you can take your time. - but there are 3 questions that take a bit of time to complete. The first two were okay, took me about an hour to do - 100% passed test cases. The last one was a graph problem, find the shortest route from One node to another and print the path. This took me about 2.5 hours to do. Only one test case failed, I didnt think it was worth investing any more time for an interview. The company thinks that they are a top employer so they can exploit foreign nationals into wasting their time doing exercises that that they will reject even if you get 99% test cases right. Waste of time to apply to this company.

The first stage is composed of two online assessments on Zyvo. The first one is 80in8, a set of 80 multiple choice mental maths questions to be answered in 8 minutes. It's decently hard, and Zyvo doesn't offer a practice suite (you do have 2 practice questions to get used to the format though). Small note on 80in8, it may not be your run-of-the-mill maths test. Questions usually involve fractions and floating point numbers, you have 4 options, and no time limit for each question (how to pace yourself is up to you, just note that you can't skip and wrong answers detract points). I haven't found a good practice website with fractions, but for floating point numbers I recommend tradermaths.com. Don't really know why they need Quant Researchers to be good at mental maths, I assumed that was the Traders' area of expertise (and the testing website evidently does too, since it kept erroneously referring to my application as "Trader application"). Answered 57/80 questions, probably got around 5 wrong trying to answer quickly, so I estimate a score of 47, but Zyvo doesn't offer detailed reports so can't know for sure. Didn't pass to the second assessment.
