However, it's important not to bash someone else's reputation or focus on the negative aspects of a not-so-great working relationships. Answer this question honestly with certain characteristics that made working with the individual difficult and then expound on ways that you adapted to their management style to get the work done. Then stress at least three attributes that your favorite manager possessed that made working with them enjoyable (e.g. "He/She promoted my professional development", "He/She maintained open communication with me").
