You say what you've done so far and they hear as if not interested and then ask same things again and again, this is what Head of HR - Suresh in Pune did and even after telling in 1st round clearly that being a girl I won't do night shift the asked me to wait for further rounds and the slow process made it from morning to evening with no lunch time provided to end up 2nd round and HR round only to come back with no offer as HR forced me for Night shift Minder
We have data that gets loaded once a week. With that in mind we have an application that clients enter search data in to and then SQL has to dynamically build a statement that has 25 different data points/relationships. It works fine, but takes upwards of 30 seconds to return the data to the client. You can not change the existing schema, but you can however add to it. Indexes are already present and optimized on all the different tables. What could you do to make this process much faster??

Without being able to restructure the existing schema your only choice is to de-normalize the data. When the data gets loaded on that weekly schedule, also build a flat table so there are no relationships being built. Minder

I was actually not going to laugh but I really felt your pain. Yes they should have gotten back to you. It is very tough to get an IT position today plus that you were expecting from them, but they left you hanging. That was terrible. I wish you all the best in life and in your search . Minder

CHR(10) is the answer but this is such a waste of time to ask. This doesn't indicate that you can code or can think through tough assignments to come up with a reasonable solution. Minder

CLASIC ONE: Type of indexes. Clustered vs. non-clustered... if you can add the COLUMNSTORE INDEX...it will not be applicable for this job but will show that you at least know about it Minder
