Are you looking for the right project where your skills in mechanical, electrical or computer engineering can make the difference?
Would you like to program and build the controls of the automated machines used on our local manufacturing site?

Our small but rapidly growing Automation Engineering team is looking for a fulltime colleague. Join us at our European Headquarters, where our advanced medical devices are produced!

In this exciting position, you will work closely with the Automation Design Engineer on the equipment that will automate certain aspects of our manufacturing process, and complete the design by adding electronic, pneumatic, programming and user interface elements. You will also work closely with our internal Automation Engineers based in the US, who will train you during the startup phase, and maintain a close collaboration with you throughout all the project phases.

Where and When
  • This fulltime position is based in Amersfoort (NL)
  • To allow collaboration with the colleagues in California (US), you will work on a flexible work schedule (between 8.00 and 21.00)
  • During the design phase you can work from home 1 or 2 days a week, while the testing phase will require you and the team to work from the office. Evening calls can always be done from home
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and draft electrical pneumatic schematics and diagrams
  • Develop and maintain Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems
  • Develop and maintain Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems
  • Design and draft electrical panel layouts for automation equipment
  • Support (mechanical) design engineers with R&D control systems
  • Provide detailed machine operation instructions
  • Develop and maintain a software lifecycle in a regulated environment
  • Provide technical support to the Applied Medical colleagues that will use the equipment
  • Understand and follow Applied Medical’s Quality Systems (QS) as well as regulations related to CE, ISO norms and Company policies
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree (HBO/HTS/BSc/MSc) within industrial, manufacturing or mechanical engineering, or equivalent engineering experience
  • Experience in a highly regulated environment with planning and coordinating machine design automation processes
  • Technical analytical skills combined with a hands-on approach
  • Understanding of technical reasoning, prototyping, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent
  • Experience with ERP, SAP, and/or Product Lifecycle Management applications is preferred
  • Excellent English both verbal and written
