This position will be supporting the Network of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence at the Edge or The dAIEDGE Project commissioned by the European Union. The main objective is drones & other devices can make decisions in a few milliseconds by processing data directly at the point of origin. This ultimately will be an accelerator for many new applications in areas such as autonomous driving, personalized digital assistance and intelligent service robots.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage and support the technical development of the solutions under the dAIEDGE project
• Coordinate and manage any necessary technical integration with 3rd parties
• Provide technical advice on feasibility, cost, convergence with internal roadmap, and timeline of the project
• Provide both technical and organizational support to the consortium and integrate APIs or other tools as necessary
• Foster cross-functional and cross-discipline connections with partners to drive engineering efforts
• Develop and explore available technologies and design solutions to continuously improve data quality, workflow reliability, scalability while reporting performance and capabilities
• Perform quality control checks
• Distil and present your work to consortium partners
• Pursuing cutting edge ML research both independently and as part of a team
• Developing ML theory, constructing ML implementations at scale and publishing papers.

Great-to-have

• Degree in a quantitative field, with experience in computer science, data science, statistics and operations research
• Experience with programing languages such as C#, Python, JavaScript
• Comfortability with learning new language if required
• Experience working with multiple platforms such as Desktop, Mobile, Tablet
• Experience working with AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with databases, web servers, docker, rest APIs
• Experience at the cutting edge of machine learning research
• Have knowledge of implementing AI systems at scales
• Knowledge of deploying ML services on the cloud, working with big data
• Ability to work within a team of both ML research scientists and engineers
• Experience with active inference and the free energy principle are a plus

• Experience in distributed ML a big plus
