Senior Machine Learning Engineer / MLOps


PlayerUnknown Productions is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer / MLOps to join our team. As an experienced engineer you will be working with a group of scientists and developers on research opportunities that will have a significant impact on the way we develop interactive experiences in the future.

PlayerUnknown Productions places a strong emphasis on a breadth-first development approach in all fields, using our proprietary engine based on Entity Component System (ECS) and Data-Oriented Design (DOD) and Machine Learning (ML). We believe in iterative development rather than purpose-built solutions, building for flexibility and adaptability from the ground up.


  • Support development and deployment of machine learning models ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain MLOps pipelines to automate the model training, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Ensure proper data management, data versioning, and reproducibility throughout the machine learning lifecycle.
  • Implement infrastructure automation processes to streamline the deployment and management of services and hardware resources.
  • Continuously improve and optimize the performance of implemented solutions through monitoring, evaluation, and iterative enhancements.
  • Design and develop CI/CD workflows and automated testing frameworks for machine learning and related projects.
  • Implement and optimize libraries and tools using Python/C++/other languages and relevant libraries/frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, numpy, scikit-learn, etc).


  • Experience working as a Machine Learning Engineer or MLOps Engineer, preferably in gamedev or other creative environment with on-premise infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning concepts, algorithms, and frameworks, including experience in implementing and deploying models in real-world applications.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language and its scientific computing libraries; demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code.
  • Good communication skills in both verbal and written English, enabling clear and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly motivated to engage with new and emerging technologies, demonstrating a willingness to explore and apply unconventional methods.


  • Experience or knowledge of generative AI and creative applications of machine learning.
  • Knowledge of data engineering principles and experience in working with large-scale datasets
  • Experience with game development, real time computer graphics, computer vision.

MELBA Team is PLAYERUNKNOWN Productions’ applied research division. Project Melba is a new simulation engine being built from the ground up, utilizing data-driven design, multi-core processing and machine learning at its foundation in order to power virtual worlds on a scale beyond the capabilities of current technology.

Going Dutch
We go by the Dutch law and start with a 12-month contract with the intent to offer a permanent contract afterwards.

13th month salary
Enjoy a 13th month of salary at the end of the year for a little extra holiday money. If you haven’t been with us a full year, you’ll still get a pro-rata bonus based on how long you’ve been employed.

Flexible Schedule
You are free to work and hang out with us every day in our Amsterdam Studio. If you prefer to work from home, you can take advantage of three work-from-home days a week.

All you can eat
No need to worry about drinks, snacks, and lunch while in the studio.

You will have 25 days off and 3 extra studio days off throughout the year. You can also celebrate your birthday with an extra day off!


Benefits differ per country but we grant a 13th month salary to all our employees.
