Find errors in the Python code
Anoniem
I recently interviewed with Wayve and had one of the most bizarre experiences. During the technical round, the interviewer admitted to copy-pasting the problem from ChatGPT without solving it beforehand. The problem contained two errors, which I quickly fixed within five minutes while clearly explaining my thought process. The interviewer’s response? "LOVE IT." He then extended the problem by adding a new feature to the class. Again, I implemented it in an elegant way within five minutes, even including edge case checks that the interviewer hadn’t considered. His response? "LOVE IT." This happened four times throughout the interview, all ending on a seemingly positive note with hints about the next steps. To my surprise, I later received a rejection email with one of the most unexpected and unclear feedback messages I’ve ever encountered. My takeaway? The interviewer—who seemed to be an early-career engineer—may have felt intimidated or simply lacked the maturity to fairly assess candidates. Unfortunately, this reflects poorly on the hiring process. If you’re considering interviewing here, don’t be discouraged by a rejection—it might have nothing to do with your actual abilities. The process felt flawed and subjective, and I hope the company reevaluates its approach to hiring.
