How do I handle escalations?

Mostly, I make sure I truly "hear" the problem or issue at hand. Most people just want to be heard out. I attempt to resolve the problem myself and if I see that I am not able to take care of it timely, I'd reach out to supervisor for guidance and copy all parties involved in an email so that we could all be on the same page.
