Process builder does the following: Create a record Update any related record Use a quick action to create a record, update a record, or log a call Launch a flow Send an email Post to Chatter Submit for approval Call Apex methods Where as Workflow can only do the following 4 actions: 1. Send outbound message 2. Send an email alert 3. Update a field 4. Assign a task
