FastWeb delivers on its name and a lot more. The leading alternative fixed-line broadband telecom services provider in the country (after incumbent carrier Telecom Italia), the company provides more than 1 million consumer and enterprise customers in Italy with voice, data, and video service. Its e.BisMedia subsidiary provides traditional broadcast, pay-per-view, and video-on-demand television service; e.BisMedia also has a joint venture with state-owned TV broadcaster RAI (RAI-Click) that broadcasts RAI's content over FastWeb's TV platform. FastWeb also provides mobile voice services. Swisscom acquired a majority stake in the company in 2007 for about $5.7 billion; it now holds about 82% of FastWeb.
