I am a software engineer with more than 5 years of experience. I had an interview with one of the managers in which we discussed my technical knowledge and how Capgemini Engineering works. Already during the interview, it felt that he tried to find an excuse to lower my employee value but disputed that the manager mentioned that he wanted to sign me in. He mentioned that there was no need for the technical assessment since I showed good knowledge and the offer would follow in a few days. I tried to get the salary range but the manager would avoid this topic and switch to unrelated topics (mobility budget and other benefits) but still not mention any numbers. After a few days, I received the offer which felt like a joke. It was 42.768k per year plus the benefits of 12.833k which mostly consisted of a mobility budget of 9.600k. These numbers are significantly below what a software engineer should get. Especially, knowing that most likely they would put you to work at ASML. (Check the ASML employment package and you will understand) Based on that I straight away rejected the offer but to my surprise, the response email from the manager was "You should improve your technical knowledge" and he implied the feeling that I wasn't welcome at all anymore.
