Minpunten

The company just announced they want employees back in the office and are making it mandatory. There is already a negative sentiment from salary levels and most folks have already started exiting the companies. There will be a mass exit in coming months due to such imperialistic and stone age policies. The managers are happy about this policy, but what they don't realize is that they will soon have no team due to it and have to do the job of these employees which they have knowledge or training of. Hence the title of this review "Time to jump the doomed ship"

The Negatives are a LONG list.. The worst thing about this company is the mid level management who manage teams and do ZERO Actual WORK. These managers who have authority to hire/fire people ONLY play politics and promote people close to them or who are not a threat to them. They have ZERO knowledge of what actually the people working under them do. They literally have NO idea what it takes to get the work done. They only ask questions like why is the DELAY or say PUSH the supplier or PUSH the engineers etc . Its like expecting a human baby to be born in 3 months when you know it takes 9 months... JUST PUSH... This ridiculous mentality results is burn out and is the reason why people are leaving in this company that was once a GREAT company. NO MORE. The only way this company will ever be successful again is when they FIRE middle management and promote people WHO ARE ACTUALLY COMPETANT. The managers benefit a lot from CHAOS and ambiguity. They are fast to finger point but last to own responsibility. There are constant arguments between Operations and Technology teams because of the EGO of these managers. The people working in their teams actually get along well and are ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATED with their managers. If ENGIE is reading this then PLEASE get rid of the middle management across the board or the company is doomed. HR is not good either as seen from other peoples reviews but they face the same issue of having to deal with these mid level managers who have no clue what they are doing and are ONLY PAPER PUSHERS!

Pluspunten

Great co-workers, generally all us IC 'plebs' are pretty nice to work with and actually care for each other. Trying to be very inclusive. Actual Female engineers, extremely high number of cultures (almost 1:2, one culture for every 2 persons, within the engineering department at the very least). General a lot of thought is put into events (gay-pride etc), mindfulness/meditation/mental-health etc. The thought definitely counts here. Great _potential_ for product, services and place to work.

Minpunten

Management is completely in the dark in what we do, where we are, what we should do to get where we want to be, should be. Strong lack of direction of the products and constantly changing directions/priorities. The 'next generation' can't even do what the previous generation of products did after 3 years of serious development (due to the above). Inexperienced top (managers etc) that sit on top of the engineers that have no idea nor are realistic. Extremely stressful environment. Many went through burn-out/quit because of it (mostly due to unrealistic expectations/pressure). More managers then actual engineers to build the products that are needed. Best talent has long left and was not fought (hard enough) for. Went from thinking like a startup Way to long (with plenty lack of procedures) to scaling up and going over board with procedures (there's even procedure to manage procedures). Management does not listen and even more so, does not change anything. Teams have to build them selves, there's little/no help in creating opportunities to build teams anymore. Not competitive salary and benefits. Sustainability is no longer a key driver (sustainability is also only thought of as 'it's a charger for an EV, that's sustainable). All negative comments from others are 'spot on'.
