Minpunten

Don’t ignore the negative reviews here as I did. The environment is challenging, with long work hours - 9:00-18:00 is the norm and some people have to work on some weekends - and pressure is high. “Urgent” requests pop up every time, making it harder to plan one single day in advance. Higher management doesn’t have a clear vision where the company is going and targets are constantly changed. It’s a scale-up company with processes, errors and estimations of a early stage student startup. Lack of transparency with employees and riders.

Great colleagues and people willing to help. Potential of the product is great.

Minpunten

Engineer are not rewarded for the effort and time put into the projects. Management has no view of what is next (there is no timeline or a real plan) which in turns become difficult for engineer to have holidays approved and they always need to be available to overcome all sort of issues in order to compensate management. What could be easy become super complicated due to the lack of management competencies. Hiring is very bad and inconclusive. Product is rushed too much into the market (see S3). Salary is quite below average. No real benefits apart from a bike which break down almost each month (thankfully bike doctors are always there to help but waiting time is huge)

At first it all looks great and spirits are high. Until you find out after a month how things really work at VanMoof. Support does not have the tools to really solve problems since the bike is full of flaws. Not just the latest model. Since the electrified s1 had been launched there have been many problems with every model. Structural problems know at management are intentionally not solved. And essential parts of older models are discontinued leaving customers hanging with a useless bike and support agents with nothing but apologies to make.
