Vacansoleil ended up hitting an iceberg many years ago. The company is a sinking ship where the people in charge all think they get to be the captain, first mate and quartermaster while water pours in all around them. The ineptitude of the management leads to flagrant disregards of customers, camping partners and employees. Instead of repairing the core of the ship, the grunts are mopping these drowned floors, resulting in dispensable and overworked employees with high burnout rates. As the workers are drowning, the bigwigs roll around in six figure vehicles while their own camping partners are given empty payment promises over and over, and the grunts are given the bare minimum. While back in the day, the employees got decently rewarded with a company car, two weeks of free holiday at Vacansoleil accommodations, generous gift cards, a fitness room and yearly company trips, you can now not even expect a simple wish card for a special occasion. As the ship keeps sinking, constant changes are happening, leading to tech bloat, inefficiency and inconsistencies between departments. The colleagues are the only facet of this organisation that keep it remotely afloat. They are the only thing that make this sail bearable, although with many, their skills and abilities are entirely misused.
