Pluspunten

Vibrant Work Environment: Employees enjoy a dynamic atmosphere with opportunities to engage in student-centered events and programs.

Minpunten

Management Criticism: Some employees report management being overly focused on profits, with staff and resident satisfaction sometimes taking a back seat. Lack of support from higher management is a recurring theme. Workload Issues: Certain roles (especially operations and housekeeping) report high workloads, stressful periods, and sometimes being understaffed. Shift Patterns: Long and inconsistent hours (such as night shifts and weekends) are common in frontline positions, which can negatively impact work-life balance. Workplace Turnover: Some reviews mention high staff turnover and lack of job security in specific locations or roles. Pay & Benefits: Average ratings for pay, benefits, and work-life balance; compensation noted as not always reflecting the workload.

Pluspunten

The office is staffed by passionate contributors who are genuine, industrious and skilled in their roles. It was an inclusive, chill(young people centered) and fulfilling environment to work in.

Minpunten

Unfortunately the leadership is stuck with old heads, nepotism appointments, cringe boomer ideas, dirty data mucked out to facilitate KPI pandering and a general lack of direction and purpose - are we a mall that's dead 5 days a week? a closet stat board that burns money on low-turnout events and high-budget projects? a nonprofit that carelessly harvests sensitive data for self-serving purposes? It's a shame that the individuals that produce great work are often undone by leadership decisions that are too conservative, too old-fashioned, and too worried about the numbers more than the holistic goals. I was hired and advised to focus on specific areas, but that scope kept changing, and expanding, that it was difficult to evaluate progress or improvements. Within a few months, I was given zero support ("you need to be the one to figure it out" and then "no, this is not what I asked for/needed, why did you not ask or check with me"), 100% documentation of my flaws (not bothering to inform and address offline or on the spot, just gleefully recording and keeping it under the sleeves) and no adhoc communications (no WhatsApp, Teams, Slack, just emails so it can be saved and shown to others). The sly peeks at my monitor and desk, talking to HR staff while vaguely mentioning me or indicating towards me in a foreign language, and shutting me out completely while I was supposed to carry out my duties as the team's senior staff. I wasn't even given my entire probation period before I was told to leave (ORNS duties + planned long holidays). Reflecting on my journey, I regretted not being able to produce quality work of my own to prove myself. I was definitely riddled with my own shortcomings that affected how productive I was at work, not to mention certain personal circumstances that affected me too. Having said that, instead of troubleshooting, communicating, and resolving issues in our work relationship, Supervisor decided to push me out and document all the reasons for it, while actively sabotaging me with unrealistic work tasks and impossible deadlines, and zero advice/support/input that would typically be expected from a HOD.
