I found a better job someplace else.
Minpunten
I worked in ADT solar for 5 years. Never a bad performance review, never a day late, never a customer complaint. I received regular praise from my superiors for embodying ADT values. I was routinely told I was doing an exceptional job. Like many of my colleagues, I bought into the elusion ADT sold us: we are a family, work hard and you'll be rewarded, there are lots of opportunities for advancement, so on and so forth. When ADT announced that it would be getting rid of solar, we were told our positions were safe and we could transition to other teams and departments around the company. This didn't turn out to be true. Someone from HR and someone from leadership instead invited me and 1000 or more of my colleagues to a conferences call, rounded up like cattle going to slaughter, and systematically fired each of us over a 3-minute conference call. I believe the exact words were "effective immediately, you all are no longer ADT employees." Within minutes of the meeting, I lost everything I had worked hard to build: my job, access to my computer, emails, phone, notes, and more. After dedicating my life to the company, working toward a future there, wanting to grow professionally within the company, and doing everything possible to do so. I was fired alongside all of my peers in the most heartless of ways—over a 5 minute conference call. What did they offer me after all of my years of dedication and hard work, 2-weeks severance.
