Pluspunten
AMD has great people and challenging projects. The work-life balance is good with flexible hours and the ability to telecommute. The health insurance is reasonably good although the premiums have consistently risen year to year. You can earn up to 20 days of vacation and you get 11 paid holidays each year with 5 of them around the Christmas holidays which is nice.
Minpunten
There is a constant, looming dread of layoffs due to the company's poor financial performance. Merit raises are minimal. The energizing culture of the underdog battling the 800 pound gorilla is gone for a lot of us. There is minimal opportunity for career growth as the company is shrinking rather than growing.
