      Decent wages and benefits, for the company it is a place you can work three years then transfer to another enjoyable place (company) to work.

      Minpunten

      Corporate abandonment of employees. Uneducated supervisors. Poor hiring practices. Computer systems designed towards borderline billing practices. Patient care is only as good as the caregiver. The company stresses integrity but the dirty little secret they skirt around it all the time with charting and billing practices.

      Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

      Minpunten

      Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

      AMR San Mateo is making huge strides in changing the Old Boy culture of EMS. The operation is collaborative, cares for its employees, and acts with accountability.

      Minpunten

      Although it's much better than it was, AMR San Mateo still deals with staffing issues, primarily for medics, and forced mandation is still in play.
