You make some great interactions and meet a lot of new people. So many EMS personnel that I've met have given me great advice to further my skills as an EMT and they answer so many of my questions, even if it sounds ridiculous.

Minpunten

Management is......toxic. They will brag, during neop, about the fact how everyone in management has known each other for 10+ years. HR (which is only one lady in office) is married to one out of two of the operations supervisors, and if her husband doesn't like you.....well all I can say is most of those who trained me are gone now.

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Minpunten

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Pluspunten

AMR San Mateo is making huge strides in changing the Old Boy culture of EMS. The operation is collaborative, cares for its employees, and acts with accountability.

Minpunten

Although it's much better than it was, AMR San Mateo still deals with staffing issues, primarily for medics, and forced mandation is still in play.
