Pluspunten
The work that APPRISE does is great and the employees (other than senior management) are great. Compensation and benefits are good and the office is in a good location.
Minpunten
If I could rate “Senior Management” zero stars, I would. Unless 1) you are able to handle working under toxic people, 2) you are passionate about the work this organization does, and 3) you already have a good amount of experience in this field, I would recommend that you DO NOT apply to work here. The main con is that senior management is unpleasant to work with and because it’s a such a small organization, you will be working closely with them. They are neither good managers nor good leaders and they are often cold and unforgiving towards their employees. Expectations will be unreasonably high from the start. When you first join, there is no buffer time where you are allowed to trip up as you are learning the specific way they do things. Plus, there is little to no guidance to help you; it's essentially trial-by-fire learning. Work plan instructions are often very vague and yet you are expected to execute the work flawlessly, with few to no clarifying questions. Feedback is hardly ever constructive and very critical. They will often make you feel like you are completely incompetent when you make a mistake, no matter how small. Their tone and their choice of words are condescending, and you may feel belittled. Additionally, there is no accountability for management. There is no HR department for you to air your concerns to and it will feel very difficult to speak up for yourself directly to senior management because it is such a small organization, so they have autonomous power. In summary, the cons far outweigh the pros. Unfortunately, this is simply because working with senior management can be extremely difficult. Everything else about this organization is great. I hope this honest review can give you a lot to consider before you apply/interview/accept an offer.
