Pluspunten

Stable job at a fiscally responsible company that doesn't knee-jerk react to every blowing wind of the market. Good work/life balance. Recently benefitted from their updated Maternity/Paternity Leave policy, which was incredibly helpful during a busy time. Historically, opportunities to transfer departments and develop skills in a variety of areas. Worthwhile mission that contributes to the greater science community.

Minpunten

Old company that sometimes has antiquated systems or processes. This can cause less efficiency in communicating and getting work done. The combination between a tumultuous time for the Life Sciences industry, and personnel changes in the company's leadership team caused a level of uncertainty and change for many over the past 1.5 yrs. Like many US based companies, ATCC needs to build out a more robust career track for individual contributors in the science division that does not include a management component.

Pluspunten

- Benefits are pretty good -People I directly work with in the labs are good at their jobs - Manassas Campus has a convenient grab and go food area which helps out when I forget to pack a lunch / don't have time to go out and grab something -Closed between Christmas and New Years

Minpunten

- Needs better coverage for mental health care - It seems like a lot of money goes towards administrative areas, while the lab wings are pretty cramped. It badly needs an extension with additional lab spaces. - Company recently changed from biweekly paychecks to weekly paychecks, which limits the ability to flex time, and being salaried, overtime is not compensated. -Can be very difficult to climb the ladder. Admin staff seem to be promoted more easily than lab staff. - Large reliance on paper records - Management tends to rush implementation of new systems before they're ready - Even with this being a non-profit, C-suite management makes multi-hundred-thousand-dollar salaries, and the old CEO was making over $2M in 2024 while not contributing much. It's hard to believe they're in touch with the common employee - Dragged their heels on implementing parental leave until forced to by law. HR loves to emphasize the small things they implement. -No leave sharing program
