Pluspunten
Extremely nice team in the junior and middle management levels
Minpunten
Treats employees absolutely shockingly.
I was promoted over a year ago and denied assoicated raise, was promised it 3 months later after a 'trial' period - that came and went and it never happened. Multiple other employees told me that this happened to them as well. Raises are done on an annual basis (even if you have had a major change of role) and come out of a 'pot' for an entire team - so you getting a raise means that your colleague will not, and vice versa. Other departments are also allowed to veto raises in teams they have no relationship with, meaning that your manager and your manager's manager can both agree that you have earned one, but if a single person outside your team wants a portion of the money in the 'pot', they can advocate for you to receive nothing. This is what happened to me - I was promised a major raise for over a year because I had been promoted into a job with vastly more responsibilities, and then a colleague vetoed it and I received hardly anything.
Aside from that, the senior leadership of the company is worse than useless. The constant push for more-more-more has meant that 5 products with overlapping user segments have been released in the space of 3 weeks recently. This is of course an untenable amount of work, and the company refuses to hire more people to help cope with it. In fact, many people have left recently and not been replaced, and all the management will say in townhalls is that 'we continue to be below average employee churn rate'. In my opinion, if employees are leaving at a much faster rate than they used to, that should be cause for concern no matter if you are below 'average' levels for the business.
Senior leadership is poor at decision making and frequently makes bad calls despite being warned about them months in advance. Recently many product naming discussions have happened - I flagged potential issues with the way products were being named months ago, was ignored, and have now been facing execution difficulties because of it.
There is an unreasonable expectation of work on all levels. There is simply too much to do and the company does not hire enough people to do it. The customer service team has been understaffed for over a year, and has a high churn rate because of that, which exacerbates the problem.
At every level, issues with understaffing and unreasonable levels of work have been raised, and are consistently ignored. You can raise as many red flags to your manager as you want, and nothing will change because your manager is helpless under senior leadership who refuse to treat their employees like human beings worthy of respect. If you make less than 100k, you are not worth considering, in their eyes. Never at any other workplace have I felt so consistently insulted by the senior leadership as at this company.
