I have been working at AF for more than 5 years. I have returned year after year because I work with incredibly bright, talented individuals who share the same passion that I do about education. Achievement First has been an incredibly warm, welcoming place for me to work. I am consistently challenged, and I am pushed every day to become a better educator. This is certainly NOT an easy job and I have had my fair share of tough days, but if you want an easy job, education is not the field for you -- and certainly not at a high performing charter school. Since I became a mother, AF has been very accommodating to my needs. I have now been able to create a schedule that works for me and my family and I truly feel that I am able to be both an excellent mother and an excellent employee.

You definitely need to work hard to prove yourself at AF. I think my school and the network became more accommodating to my needs as a mother once I had fully demonstrated that I would always work my absolute hardest for our students.
