Benefits are awful. I pay around $240 a month for health insurance (not counting dental, FSA, and other benefits) and my insurance has an enormous deductible of $4,500. Their pharmacy benefits also exclude specialty medications, such as those for cancer, crohn's disease, HIV, multiple sclerosis, and more. In order to access these lifesaving medications, Acosta employees have to first apply for the drug manufacturers' patient assistance/charity programs that are intended for patients who are uninsured and unable to afford their medication. If they get a denial, they are then told that they could get their medication sent to them through a pharmacy that imports drugs from foreign countries (which is probably not legal). I went through this process, and I was told that if I was uncomfortable doing any of this then I would have to pay the full $9,000/month out of pocket for my medication. I'm not sure what options exist for people whose medications can't be sourced from overseas. They make Acosta employees go through this sometimes months-long process just so the company can save some money. In addition to this, my pay is so low that am living paycheck-to-paycheck even with roommates in an area in a low cost of living. Raises aren't enough to keep up with a rising cost of living. To add to this: there was an opening for the position above mine, and the listed salary range was a decent step up from what I was being paid at the time. I applied to it and was rejected, but then the position was offered to me as a promotion at a salary around $15,000 less than the low end of the listed pay range. Loyalty to this company only holds you back.
