Pluspunten
Fully remote within the province. Onboarding smooth, extremely friendly people all around. Culture is all about being nice. If you land in a nice role here with a good leader, you'll really enjoy it. It has the potential to be a very, very stress-free workplace. It's a non-profit insurance company after all; there's not too much hustle and bustle anywhere in the company. Pay is comfortably competitive for entry-level roles. Great place to retire.
Minpunten
Very tall structure. Tons of bureaucracy. Employees on lower rungs have incredibly limited and pigeonholed roles. Very low, very slow innovation. Management deflects at every level. There is no growth in skill-set to be had here naturally, you have to push insanely hard to get exposure to new technology and tools. It's a very "it's been like this forever" type of company. There's no use pointing out that it can be done better. Decisions on improvements on technology and process take 1-2 years to implement. Out of touch, grandfathered-in middle managers with little technical ability. Over-focus on leadership from creative backgrounds, under-focus on leadership from technical building backgrounds. Growth is an everyday punchline for everyone in the company, but there is nothing in the company to facilitate that growth. Everything is lagging behind by 10 years.
