This company is easily one of the most toxic places I’ve ever worked at. The job that I interviewed for and was hired for was a mask for what my real job was which was being Amanda’s punching bag. That woman genuinely gets pleasure out of her employees’ misery. Anything you do and I mean anything, you will get yelled at for. She is the most disorganized micromanager who will tell you to do something one minute and change her mind within the next and then expects you to know what she wants. If she ever tells you to take initiative because you’re in a leadership position, don’t even bother because she’s just going to yell at you for doing what you were told/hired to do. You’re damned if you and damned if you don’t. There is no winning with Amanda and her psychotic behavior. On top of that, she expects everyone who works for her to be at her beck and call. She will reach out to you at any hour of the day whether it’s outside of work or not, and expects an answer immediately or will continue to hound you until you do answer. Amanda has zero boundaries and doesn’t care about your personal life in any capacity so long as her needs are fulfilled. She also makes her favoritism incredibly obvious. I knew a few months in that I wasn’t liked by her (for what reasons I literally have no idea) and every single day I feared for the security of my job as she had zero problem with firing people for baseless reasons. She wouldn’t ever acknowledge me even if I was right in front of her and would ask for everyone’s opinion except mine despite the fact that I was in a creative role. I was always blamed for any mistake on my team even if I had no hand on it. She didn’t trust my ability to do the job I was hired to do and questioned every single thing I did even down to how I organized a PERSONAL spreadsheet for my own reference while working. Luckily, I was able to land a job somewhere else before Amanda could even get a chance to fire me (which I know she would’ve LOVED to do). Save yourself the drama of working for this company because all it does is induce anxiety and you will be stressed at every moment of the day so long as Amanda is running that company. That place genuinely ruined my mental health and I’d give anything to turn back the clock and not accept that job offer for the sake of my sanity and well being. Don’t work for Amanda Uprichard. You’ll be sorry if you do.
