I worked at Andela (core team, not client teams) for a few years. I loved it, and it was human. After the new CTO came in, the company changed a lot. The engineering team suffered 2 consecutive layoffs, some left on their own accord due to how the new CTO works. The worst part was that for almost a year, the new CTO held meetings to calm things down, making false promises in order to keep the team engaged and doing the work while he restructured the sector. Shortly before Christmas, he fired an entire team, the same team that had promised that a layoff wouldn't happen. A person who hasn't learned to play fair.
