I would like to respectfully share an observation regarding recent hiring patterns. It appears that several senior-level hires have been made from Walmart, often at levels such as Senior Director and above, in some cases through referrals. At the same time, many internal team members who have made strong and meaningful contributions to building Angel One’s platforms continue to be positioned at levels such as Staff or Senior Manager. From an employee perspective, this difference in leveling can sometimes feel discouraging, especially when internal contributions and long-term impact may not seem to be reflected in comparable growth opportunities. Additionally, it appears that some of these hiring decisions may be influenced by referrals or prior professional associations, including those connected to CXO-level leadership at Angel One who have previously worked at Walmart. While such networks can certainly be valuable in attracting talent, ensuring a balanced, transparent, and merit-based approach to hiring and leveling is equally important. I fully appreciate that hiring decisions involve multiple considerations and strategic priorities. However, greater clarity and consistency in how roles, experience, and impact are evaluated—both for internal and external candidates—would help reinforce a sense of fairness, professionalism, and motivation across the organization. This feedback is shared with utmost respect and with the intention of contributing positively toward a more equitable and encouraging work environment.
