Pluspunten

-You meet some incredible people and those who you bond with will become excellent collaborators -You get some marginal tech company experience if you are entry level -Hybrid workplace -Kind of a con but the positive side is: you will be so used to working in a volatile environment that you will truly become really good at working in high stress/high volume/"fast paced" environments, and any company you will work for after will likely feel like being on vacation

-While some people are incredible to work with, many are also incredibly toxic and two-faced in order to get ahead -Company claims to be diverse, which it is numerically, however if you look at upper management you'll start to notice some trends -Team titles don't make sense and don't transfer easily to other companies if you find yourself looking for work after being at ApplyBoard (and this will matter since you'll likely get laid off or have to quit due to the absolute insane workload and mismanagement you will have to deal with - especially if you are a Canadian employee) -If you are an employee in the Canadian office, you will not be treated with the same courtesy as the other office: there is clear favouritism and disparity between the 2. -They keep track of how often you go to the office -Pay is meh: for tech it's on the low end. An income is an income at the end of the day, but they will look for ways to lowball you where they can, and if you're a higher earner they won't like it (particularly in CX). -Some Team Leads, and certainly most those above that level of management, will speak to you like you're an idiot and you're misunderstanding information regarding changes (financial, team structures, etc.) so you will have to navigate a lot of gaslighting and very poor process change documentation. -Team structures and workload will change so frequently you'll get whiplash. And if you can't keep up with the newest way of doing things, you'll be looked at as if you're incompetent. -Some very incompetent people are promoted and/or not fired when layoffs (or team restructuring) occur, and for some reason it's the hardest working and most competent people that get trimmed. If you work hard, don't even bother, they don't care about sincere and authentic employees. Work at mid level or lower and that'll be your way to success. -Internal mobility is prioritized for those not in the Canada office (competence, work history, company loyalty and seniority, product knowledge and experience be damned - as long as you lick some boots and have a "yes sir/m'am" attitude). -Your manager will likely not be in the same country/time zone as you (especially if you're a Canada office employee). Yet you'll be expected to know what your work load is (doesn't matter even if massive changes happened recently, you're incompetent for not reading the mind of your poorly communicating manager in an opposing time zone), and to somehow magically communicate telepathically during your work day with someone who is likely asleep during most of your work day. This setup is unfair to both the manager and the person reporting to them. As much as somone in the C-suite not so subtly implied the Canadian office being racist, it's actually a logistics and efficiency issue, not a lack of accepting a multicultural workforce. Wake up and stop making excuses. If people can't communicate with their managers how are they supposed to be effective during their work day? Yet you calculate TATs and SLAs and count that waiting time as part of issues being unresolved. Shameful. This is the most open-minded group of individuals you have in your workforce (many immigrants themselves or children of immigrants) and you try to shame them into silence for not being able to speak with their manager and tell them their concerns are not legitimate. -Not in every team, but some people will certainly claim your work as their own. -Employees (within CX at least) are encouraged to report other colleagues for mistakes. Yes it's good to seek improvement and polishing errors, but this is a whole other level. Watch your back because any minute error you make, will likely be scrutinized. -Constant competition between the 2 offices (yes this creates a semi if not fully toxic environment). -Some managers will text during interviews and clearly not take you seriously if you are looking to grow internally. To summarize: you are nothing but a cog in their machine not even worthy of a number (and an expensive cog at that if you're a Canadian employee). Even if you somehow manage to stay shiny and in working condition, they will likely boot you.
