TL;DR: It has consistently been an intersection of work that is meaningful but also challenges my skills with leaders and colleagues who I admire professionally and personally. High IQ, High EQ work place. Leaders and team with High EQ, High IQ who is as gungho about doing good work as they are about life outside work, so we hustle hard during work hours but also clock out mentally when time's up (generally frowned upon to send messages after work hours unless it's deathly urgent). Leaders are really highly skilled at what they do - making students & teachers excited about learning any topic - and takes work quality seriously (multiple content reiterations and dry-runs), so it's not for people who wants to do sap sap sui work. It's a great place if you want to experience true Social Enterprise life - projects that are always evolving (but stay true to the core of quality education for all), and if you want to get your hands dirty and do a bit of everything that interests you or that contributes to the big picture goal as long as you can focus on your core job (I've gone from doing comms to project management to teaching because I want to), but yes this fluidity is not for everyone and I think that would drive people who like to stay in their lanes with hierarchy and strict org charts/JDs crazy. On the flip side, i dont think our 1-month PAID sabbatical leave would've been approved so easily if we're a big corporate. I've had close to 15 years of work experience in corporates and SEs and this is the 6th place I've been and it's a pretty sweet spot to be if you're someone who likes heart & hard work and someone who can appreciate being part of a small-ish, ever-evolving company where you feel you have a voice and power to change whatever you think can be improved.

I haven't worked with everyone everyone in Arus, so i don't know if it's the same experience across other departments and locations. It will also absolutely drive you crazy if you're the type who likes fixed and ready things (nothing wrong with this, but Arus may not be for you) Something else that may drive people crazy and seen as a Con but to me is a pro: I've seen a few employees whose career path might've not been so clearly laid out from the start, but as they grow with us and showcase their specialised skills and interest, both sides (employee & Arus) were able to craft a whole new Job Scope and position for themselves here.
