Pluspunten
The only good thing about BIC Innovation is some of the team.
Minpunten
My time at BIC Innovation left much to be desired. While the directors were satisfactory, it was the middle management that posed significant challenges. Opportunities for advancement were scarce for junior staff members, contrasting sharply with the frequent senior-level job postings offering generous salaries. BIC Innovation seemed tailored for older, established individuals nearing retirement, rather than fostering growth and passion in younger employees. Despite its potential, the company's management must undergo a shift in mindset towards younger staff, acknowledging their value and soliciting their opinions. Without this change, employees may find themselves overextending with little recognition, leading to burnout. While the company emphasises respect for others' skills, this respect often feels one-sided. Certain departments suffer from a severe lack of resources, prioritising productivity over work-life balance. Although they advertise themselves as eco-conscious, the insistence on frequent in-office work contradicts claims of reducing carbon footprints. Reflecting on my experience, I found it disheartening to frequently assist senior staff with basic tasks, despite their significantly higher salaries. (Such as asking how to copy and paste) Furthermore, the lack of support from line managers, who sometimes appropriated ideas without credit, compounded the frustration. In team meetings, junior members often found their voices drowned out, and their contributions overlooked. The prevailing culture, if it could be called such, was one of toxicity and neglect. In hindsight, I regret not leaving sooner to find a more supportive and nurturing work environment.
