Pluspunten
Very easy job regarding work demand, with some room for growth. I came on as a temporary holiday employee, worked Thanksgiving, Christmas and January sale and have now been a core associate for a year and a half. The workplace is relaxed and a nice manager with good training/ sales techniques can help you during slow/down time. You are in control of your schedule so taking time off is easy and increasing your availability usually gets you more scheduled hours. Learning the products and being able to match customers to a particular item is hardest at the beginning but otherwise it is a very laid back and fun place.
Minpunten
Holiday and sales customers are often unfamiliar with the products, cranky and unwilling to be helped - have lots of patience. Depending on your manager and their need to make a segment you may feel like a pushy car salesman trying to close a deal. There is no sitting during a shift so expect your feet, legs and back to ache as you adjust to being on your feet at work or if you have a long shift. Also bring snacks or easy meals that you can eat quickly since most shifts only include one 15 minute break (30 if you work more than 6 hours). Also know that you may be scheduled for on-call shifts. These shifts require you to call in 2 hours beforehand to see if you will need to work. There is no way to request no on-calls. Pro: you can make extra money on a pick up shift. Con: you cannot make other plans for the day until you call in.
