Working as a Behavior Technician while I was in school was one of the most rewarding and formative experiences I’ve had. I especially appreciated the flexibility they offered with scheduling, which made it possible to balance my academic load without compromising the quality of care I gave my clients. The kids and families I worked with made every shift meaningful, and the staff created a culture of encouragement, professionalism, and purpose. I learned so much—not just about ABA, but about patience, communication, and teamwork.

As with any role in this field, some days were emotionally or physically draining, especially when working through challenging behaviors. That said, I always felt I had a safety net in my supervisors and coworkers, which made even the hardest days manageable.
