Pluspunten

- Worked with a lot of great Scientists in the field - They have some good engineers but won't stay for long

Minpunten

- Favouritism and nepotism are all over the place. Special treatment for the ex-Klick employees and favour over who can sweet talk the executives. - Nano-management:- They controlled every task that you do. Breathed down the neck daily and weekly by every level of management. - Dictating opinions:- Quarterly engagement surveys and performance reviews each year (8 in total) causing opinion fatigue. This is their deviously tactics to keep everyone away from sharing the experience publicly . People also get scrutinized when they speak their mind in the supposedly anonymous survey. - They disguised as a SaaS business but in fact most features are requested by a particular client . People thought they work hard for a big vision but in reality they are put on hamster wheels. A word of advice for the Scientists who are best at what they do should just make an impact at the bench. This is only a hype. Why would you put up with the crack of whip doing meaningless excel chores and ignore the real calling to work at the lab bench with mRNA and CRISPR technology which you folks are best at. - The CDO is a new PhD grad who thought he knows everything about technology. Wrong choices are made with ego. It was very difficult to work with him as he showed hostility at work. The machine learning team is hindered by his incompetency. He held the company hostage with his convoluted legacy system. - The CEO is just a lucky dude who has connection/background with some VCs for fundings. He has zero regards for you as you are just his little expendable soldiers. Think of all the founders/comrades he got rid of one after the other. When he is finishing with you, all you get is his funny face. Make sure to turn the lights off before you go.

Pluspunten

The "ends" do NOT justify the "means" at BenchSci. Collegiality and Teamwork trump short-term results. BenchSci technology is a paradigm shift in uncovering reagents; AI/ML scans the literature to present the essence of a publication for your review (and there's more to come).

Minpunten

BenchSci is 100% remote. My colleagues are so interesting that I would like to see more of them in person.

Pluspunten

Remote work. Went to the office twice

Minpunten

- leadership sucks here. Not one leader would be at a leadership role in another company of decent reputation - the surviving leaders here are good at politics or they are the oldest ones remaining who are friends with the CEO. They have their own agenda and try to just play the game to get their seat at the table. They would not succeed anywhere else in the real world - there is zero pay parity. Some get such high pays and others are just blind to it. When employees talk, that is when there is a realization of the gap in pay. -they care only about employees who suck up to them and stroke their ego - their product is not the best in the business and they promote it to be something of a unicorn - company bleeds out people who are talented and now they are desperate as no one new wants to join the company - they do nothing to maintain the culture of the company - it’s the most toxic out there
