There really aren't any pros.

Ze is a pretty terrible boss. All the documents he makes you sign will remind you that he has the power to fire you at anytime. Ze is very cold/ uncaring and also tends to mumble a lot. If you are looking for advancement, this is not the place. You wont receive benefits until after a year, there are no positions to be promoted to, and you'll basically be treated as an unskilled assembly worker. Ze is very paranoid so no phones, every minute on the job will be tracked, you will also be monitored 24/7 by cameras. The work environment was very shady, and the entire business is possibly a front for something illegal, so don't ask too many questions. They make you process bales of computer scraps to determine your "number" for the day. Unfortunately this is there way of having an easy excuse to fire someone. Even in your first week if your "numbers are too low" you will be fired. Which is sad because they don't train you very well. Over all they are looking for someone just smart enough to take apart advanced electronics and just dumb enough to not ask question on why the system is broken or out of date or if you're being treated fairly. Watch out for Joseph as well, he'll be responsible for training you also but will go do other things half the day and throw you under the bus once you get chewed out for not knowing something. The company is soul less, they don't really care about you. If that isnt enough to deter you be prepared for nonsensical system layouts, lots of documentation, a bunch of hands on work including heavy lifting and taking electronics apart, isolation, and journaling to Ze at the end of the day. There's a lot more I'm sure I'm missing. They want a 5 star master IT guy for $17 an hour, good luck!

-- Although you were only employed for four days during that time, you managed to frustrate the entire team by being untrainable, unpleasant to interact with, and combative to say the least. Rarely have I had just about the whole staff revolt over a new hire, and as a result, I had to let you go before the end of the week. Your termination was based on your work attitude and not being a good fit for the organization. I am not going to keep an employee who is not a good fit just for the sake of keeping an employee and frustrate/alienate tenured employees who have been with the company for years, Your comments reveal your minimal work history and experience. For this reason, employees' benefits are available after a year or earlier based on performance. Literacy is a critical factor in securing and maintaining employment. Onboarding "nonsense" or "documentation," as you call it, is integral to the new hire orientation process. An employee handbook is a vital document for both employers and employees. Based on your comments, this is the first time you have encountered one. The employee handbook Sets clear expectations, Communicates company values, Introduces new hires, Promotes consistency, and so much more. A legitimate business should have one in place. The standard cellphone policy applies to many production facilities (should not be a surprise). All the policies you are complaining about are standard SOPs in warehouse and manufacturing facilities. During the few days of employment, your primary focus was on crass jokes and attempts at socializing and fraternizing while not training and getting to know your position. You were left to read various training manuals and watch numerous training videos; instead, you required constant hand-holding and supervision from your team lead. Most company employees were not hired as “Master IT guys”; instead, they were “computer hobbyists” and, at best, High school graduates. However, they have become "Master IT guys" because they are coachable and trainable, have excellent work ethics, and are genuinely willing to learn. Processes in place are developed collaboratively with input from employees. You should be worried if you work at a company with no documented processes and everything is "verbal." As you noticed, Beyond Surplus is a diverse workplace. Employees who expect to be micromanaged do not fit in at all. Your former coworkers, whom you started with, and new hires are thriving because they are coachable, trainable, autonomous, collaborative, adaptable, creative, proactive, detail-orientated, humble, hardworking, passionate, reliable, and have integrity. This is why you felt out of place. The question you should ask yourself is, why waren't you able to be as successful as your peers? Looking inward can be a powerful tool for personal growth and development and will help prepare you for future long-term employment. As a growing company awarded numerous contracts, positions currently open are management, e-commerce specialists, PC testing, customer service, Business development, and account management. If you had genuine concerns, you could have brought them up during the daily team meetings instead of posting anonymously here. Your "concerns" are unfounded and can only be posted anonymously under the cover of the internet. I wish you the best in your search for a job.

It's a good place to get your PC knowledge chops and be around all kinds of computer parts. I was there for a good 6 months and it was exactly what I expected. You need to be detailed and ready to learn and make mistakes. Not too many though. There's a grace period where you need to understand what the hell you're doing. Ze the warehouse manager is awesome at letting you know what's up. At first it feels like it's a cold environment, but after a while you get it and it's not as cold. Give it time and give yourself a bit of room to understand and learn. Be fast but don't be too fast to make mistakes that will bite you when they come back to you. Overall the pros are once everyone gets to know you the environment is chill-ish and the bosses are pretty good to you. They will test your knowledge and be hands and not afraid. The best part is communicated with everyone and be on time all the time. If you're late, let them know. It's super important. No excuses. Be on time or earlier no nonsense cause they don't tolerate nonsense. If i didn't have the circumstances I did I would have stayed. I would be there still honestly, I was getting used to the workflow which isn't that bad. Always keep a log of your work and get good quick.

Minpunten

The cons are pretty straight forward. Pay is ok but could always be better. Company is super small so don't expect upward motion in hierarchy.
