You don't really have to work hard. Like most Chinese companies, the level of effort onshore is mediocre, but the management style lacks emotion. You can use this to your advantage, and phone everything in... just make sure you negotiate a salary when coming on-board that you're happy with. I never once saw anyone get a raise, ever.

Nobody else works hard either. I left the company because I felt no real motivation whatsoever - if there was success or failure, it was handled with the same placid nature of oh-well. There's no team spirit - there's no spirit at all.
