Great people, excellent professionals, strong scientist used to work at Biogen, formerly Biogen-Idec. Some of them are still there working hard - and they deserve a lot better than what they have now. Only due to them, the above overall rating was set as high as "two stars".

Minpunten

Professional and business values are in total neglect for quite a while, coming from the top management. The culture at the upper level is that of "old friends". Good work, good science, integrity, loyalty to and care for the company are not appreciated, opposing views are retaliated. Honest and smart people are replaced by convenient ones. Being "yes sir" toward the upper management, being "visible" to them and "knowing someone up there" are critical for success and promotions. "Care deeply, work fearlessly...", the famous motto of Biogen now sounds like a mockery. People are afraid to care, to work and to speak up. Recent stock drop comes at no surprise.

The benefits package is strong and competitive, which adds a lot of overall value. There are many internal departments and career paths, making it relatively easy to explore new roles and grow within the company. On-site cafeteria is a convenient and appreciated perk. Many colleagues are highly experienced and have been with the company and industry for years, making them great resources for learning and mentorship.

Minpunten

Promotion policies can be limiting—there seems to be an informal rule that prevents employees from being promoted more than once in a year, even for high performers. Salary could be more competitive compared to market rates. Equipment and internal systems feel outdated and could benefit from modernization to improve efficiency.
