Pluspunten
I learned more working at Black Book Ink than I ever thought possible for an internship/first full time job (I started out as an intern, then was hired on full time). I got to try my hand at just about every duty imaginable for a Marketing/Advertising agency. It's also a fun and open atmosphere. They listen to loud music all day and everyone got along pretty well outside of work.
Minpunten
The reason I was able to do so much during my time at Black Book Ink was, unfortunately, because the company was extremely unorganized and had a huge turnover rate. There were detrimental communication problems coming from the top down. The company workflow and processes were constantly changing and no one was ever sure of what exactly was going on. About every six months, 80% of the staff would leave. This caused all the remaining employees to have to scramble to pick up the slack, leaving no time or manpower to properly train new employees. What's more, nearly every single employee was fresh out of college, so there was no opportunity for mentorship from existing employees, and no new employees bringing experience to the table. Also, salaries are extremely low compared to industry averages, so that led to little motivation to work those 70 hour weeks when required (which was often). On top of all of that, the senior management team was horrible at communicating priorities and giving feedback to the rest of the staff. There was a lot of angry yelling going on the entire time I worked there. It's unfortunate because the work being put out is good and there are really interesting clients to work with, but the senior team has serious problems and they can't keep a solid staff around for long.
