Pluspunten

Great working environments. Thorough maintenance and business practices, and floor work is conducive to fostering help and growth. Not everyone has corporate or private jet experiences, and the leadership and management overall do a great job of helping you accomplish tasks and getting the help you need to complete work on time and to standards.

Minpunten

Paid time off is inequal across shifts. All shifts receive 88 hour of PTO per year. In cases such as first shift or office workers being 8-hour days this equates to 11 days off (as clearly stated in contract), However for other shifts, you must take your full shift of 10 or 12 hours to receive a full day off (only 8.8 or 7.3 total days off, respectively). This equates to normal day-shift workers benefiting from more time off for equal work schedules (everyone works the same standard 40 hour weeks). They give National Guardsmen grief and trouble for being called in on orders and traveling for military duty, and not many HR representatives are willing to work with you on an adequate level, and often require long confusing phone calls to corporate.

Good benefits, healthy corporate culture and good work life balance.

Minpunten

Large corporation with decisions taken centrally makes it difficult for employees in satellite to feel supported sometimes. Career opportunities may be limited in the satellites particularly for non French speaking employees.

Pluspunten

Lets start with what they do well... You get to work on some amazing aircraft. Which is valuable for a resume. The work environment is more controlled than airlines. The pace is VERY structured. (if thats something you prefer) Benefits are overall good, 401k options are great.

Minpunten

There is a clear favoritism issue going on. Advancement, opportunities, and even being chosen for training is definitely not performance based... Its more about who you know.. If you aren't part of the in crowd you will DEFINITLY get overlooked. Some techs come in and get immediately sent to training or placed in a lead role and others wait patiently for years and never get an opportunity. Leadership is inconsistent, (i experienced five GMs in my time there.) Each one wanted things done completely differently. The shop floor is left with its heads spinning each time.. Concerns from the floor never translate to actions.. Processes are very cumbersome. They have to have an entire team dedicated to fixing issues their new maintenance tracking software (Maximo) creates on a daily basis. Pay in Dallas is also not up to market standard for the area. Ethics is nonexistent and HR is even worse. Even the Ethics ambassador for the site has reported it multiple times to the ethics committee. Lots of the Supporting roles have been filled with family of Management which creates deficiencies in departments like Planning, CPMs Etc. Someone needs to seriously look into the hiring practices.
