Pluspunten
This is a great place to work in software development and has improved over the past couple of years. Yes, there were some bad reviews in the past. I feel like those problems have been addressed. Our managers recently informed us that we've lost some good potential candidates due to the ratings here. This seemed absurd us so that's why you see an influx of good reviews. We are issued high-end laptops with the latest tools to get the job done. We work in a new office environment with a stocked cafe including fresh roasted coffee and snacks. There is no drama between teammates working on small teams focusing on specific business problems. Management takes care of all the meetings that would distract me from doing my work. The work-life balance is great. I might work long hours a couple of times leading up to peak season, but otherwise it's pretty much 9 - 5 with some support calls. We're empowered to fix issues that are causing these support calls so really I'm in control of my own fate here. There's a strong nerd culture and people are encouraged to be themselves. Most days you will find the cafe full of people eating lunch together instead of trying to escape the office. We have lots of gamers and there's a good MtG crowd too. There's a good work from home policy. If that's your thing you can do that twice a week. I tend to show up in the office anyway. We promote from within. I can think of seven developers who were promoted this year and I have a bad memory. This ranges from mid level devs all the way up to director level.
Minpunten
Peak season (Q4) can be stressful if there's a tech related problem, but it's fairly chill if your systems are stable. Management likes to change things up which is a double edged sword. They're certainly not afraid to try new things, but there are stretches of time where you might be wondering what you're supposed to be doing.
