Pluspunten
good head of the department (depends on your department)
Minpunten
They have terrible HR services. They do not keep up with scheduled pay. The semester is in the last week and I have only gotten two paychecks. They switch policies without warning and won't let you sign up for direct deposit until after your first paycheck and you have to be on campus. When they told me to pick up my paycheck, I got there and they said they aren't paying me for another six weeks (this was after I confirmed multiple times that my paycheck would be available for pickup). I asked if I could set up direct deposit and they said no I would have to come back (which is fine if you leave near campus but I did not as I was moving to the area and needed prof of income). They also would not give me a contract until weeks into the semester and could not confirm my salary beforehand. I feel that this is a nation-wide thing but I really feel like they take advantage of new professors who are just starting post-grad. When it comes to the students sometimes it feels more like I'm doing customer service than professing but again, that's more of a nationwide thing. If you are deciding between two jobs, take the other one.
